A BIG GIVEAWAY FOR A BIG EVENT
This year Insure Fitness Group hosted a giveaway to send one lucky winner to the 2019 Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend in Las Vegas. Over 1,000 people entered the competition but only Kyle Higginbotham, the man behind ForceFitness_Kyle on Instagram, traveled to Vegas as our winner and spent the weekend enjoying VIP access to the show.
After the event he and Eric "Merlin" Broser sat down to talk about how the trip went, discuss the best part of the show, and catch up on their favorite things about being trainers.

The interview
ERIC: How long have you been a trainer?
KYLE: I’ve been a trainer for 7 years now.
ERIC: What do you love most about being a trainer?
KYLE: The thing I love the most about being a trainer is helping people become the best versions of themselves. Not just physically, but emotionally as well. When living a healthy lifestyle so many great things will come with it, such as boosted confidence, great strength and an enhanced drive to be a better in all areas of one’s life - not just in the gym.
ERIC: What principles do you try and instill in your clients?
KYLE: The biggest thing I try to teach is consistency. I preach setting small goals that are attainable, and doing everything in calculated steps. People always think that one missed workout or one bad meal will ruin everything you’re working for. But don’t let one misstep knock you off track. Simply regroup and do better at the next meal and/or next workout. Remember that all little things add up in the end, so set small goals that in time will manifest into your ultimate goal.
ERIC: How exciting was it to win this trip to the Olympia Weekend?
KYLE: I was super excited! I didn’t believe it when I first found out. It was such an amazing opportunity to see how big the fitness space actually is. I already want to go back next year!
ERIC: What events did you attend while there?
KYLE: I attended the expo as well as the main event. There was just so much to see and so much to do it was almost overwhelming. I absolutely loved seeing all these amazing athletes come together in one place to show off their hard work in the specific sport or discipline.
ERIC: Did you meet any interesting people, or any people you admire in the industry?
KYLE: I met so many of the top “influencers” in the fitness/wellness industry. But to be honest, the one I was most excited about was Georges St Pierre. Growing up as a fighter he was always my personal favorite - not for just being a great fighter, but an incredible athlete in every way. He has always shown such a great respect for his sport, which is something I truly appreciate.
ERIC: Do you feel that attending expos such as this is beneficial to being a trainer? How so?
KYLE: Without a doubt, for any trainer to get to be around other trainers and like-minded people, it just reinforces and validates everything we believe in. The expo is a great networking tool to meet and converse with people from all over the globe and to learn more about all of the incredible opportunities the fitness industry offers. I firmly believe it very important to see and experience new things whenever you can. It helps you better yourself and broaden your horizons in so many important areas.
ERIC: What was your favorite part of the weekend?
KYLE: My favorite part of the weekend was just the entire event as a whole, as its scope was simply awesome. Where I train (Destin, FL) I am familiar with all the gyms, trainers and opportunities – so what attending the Olympia Weekend taught me is just how big my industry really is, and how much more room I have (and need) to grow as an athlete and a trainer. It was definitely an eye opener, and I can’t thank Insure Fitness enough for giving me this opportunity.
