Personal training and group fitness playlists for every class and style

Having trouble creating playlists that have the proper BPM or theme for your personal training sessions or group fitness classes?

Insure Fitness Group has created a series of playlists for all genres of personal training and group workouts, just to fit you and your personal trainer or group fitness instructor needs.

Crafting a playlist for your personal training session or group fitness class requires thought and careful consideration.

As a personal trainer or group fitness instructor, finding music that you love, but that also fits perfectly with your classes or clients can be a challenge. With this guide and these playlists, you can easily create a playlist that fits any fitness style! Whether you teach an upbeat Zumba class, HIIT session, or a restful yoga class, there is a playlist for every personal trainer or group fitness instructor.

Once you develop your own style of teaching, clients who appreciate your "brand" of classes or sessions will find you. And generally, they'll agree with your music choice because it's an extension of your personality and, if planned well, fits seamlessly into the class or session.

HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT FITNESS PLAYLISTS

Interested in building a playlist that will fit seamlessly with your class or session, have the proper BPM, and resonate with your clients or students - without being distracting?

Here are some basic guide lines to follow:

i

ORGANIZE YOUR CLASS or session INTO SEGMENTS

Don’t go crazy and make huge jumps in style, volume, or mood; ease into your selections. Just like your class or session builds to a peak pose, your music should also build.

i

NOT EVERY GENRE IS APPROPRIATE

Training can be anything from athletic to relaxing, but there are some types of music that don’t have a place in your class or session—no matter your personality.

i

PICK WHAT'S YOU, NOT WHAT'S POPULAR

Don’t choose songs because you think your clients want to hear them. If you pick music that speaks to you, your playlist will feel more genuine.

i

DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE IT UP

Just like you wouldn’t teach the same routine or session week after week, you shouldn’t play the same songs over and over again.

MUSIC IS TO YOUR CLASS OR SESSION, WHAT EFFORT AND PERSEVERANCE ARE TO YOUR CLIENT'S RESULTS.

HIIT PLAYLISTs

A high intensity interval training session, or a HIIT class, is a training technique in which your clients give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps heart rates up and burns more fat in less time. As a personal trainer, to keep your clients pushing this hard for their entire workout, the right music is essential. These curated personal trainer playlists, between 80-110 BPMs should help you and your client's through any workout!

ZUMBA/dance PLAYLISTs

Group fitness classes, such as Zumba, need specific playlists and careful attention to music selection to make sure students are hitting the right rhythms in order to burn the most calories. Zumba playlists can range from classic Latin music, what the dance craze was founded on, or new pop music to engage specific audiences. IFG has extensive group fitness instructor playlist options for any class you may be teaching!

For cardio, I pick music that has a rhythm – more like pop, club or dance music – and for weights it’s all about music to stay motivated and push harder.
